The IKEDA Stroboscopic light sources are primarily used to observe the mucosal wave of the vocal folds—serving as the gold standard for assessing the normality of vocal fold edges, tension, and closure—and to detect early-stage lesions (such as nodules, polyps, cysts, paralysis, and early-stage laryngeal cancer) that are difficult to identify with conventional laryngoscopy due to the rapid speed of vocal fold vibration. Additionally, they enable the assessment of functional recovery following surgery or treatment and serve as valuable tools for voice therapists and vocal coaches in voice training and the analysis of phonation techniques.
