Digital video colposcope is a diagnostic tool that utilizes optical magnification and electronic imaging technologies to clearly visualize the intricate details of the cervix and vaginal wall tissues. It assists physicians in the early detection of cervical lesions or precancerous conditions and is particularly suitable for the further diagnostic evaluation of women with abnormal cervical cancer screening results.

Principle of Digital Video Colposcope: The device employs specialized lenses to magnify the surface structures of the cervix, while a computer imaging system displays these images in real-time on a screen. Physicians can then observe tissue changes—facilitated by staining with acetic acid and iodine solutions—to identify minute lesions that are imperceptible to the naked eye.
Indications for Digital Video Colposcope:
1. Individuals presenting with clinical symptoms such as post-coital (contact) vaginal bleeding or abnormal vaginal discharge.
2. Patients with known cervical pathologies, including cervical erosion, cervical polyps, cervical endometriosis, leukoplakia, condyloma acuminata (genital warts), or suspected malignancy.
3. Patients with vulvovaginal lesions, such as vulvar dystrophies, condyloma acuminata, or suspected lesions of the vulva and vagina.
4. Individuals with cervical cytology results indicating Low-Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion (LSIL) or higher, or Atypical Squamous Cells of Undetermined Significance (ASCUS) accompanied by a positive test for high-risk Human Papillomavirus (HPV), or Atypical Glandular Cells (AGC).
5. Women whose cervical cytology results are negative, yet who present with visible abnormalities upon gross examination that raise suspicion of malignancy.
6. Individuals testing positive for HPV types 16 or 18, or those with persistent positivity for other high-risk HPV types for a duration exceeding one year.
7. Patients diagnosed with precancerous cervical lesions or early-stage cervical cancer, for whom a digital colposcopic examination is performed prior to surgery to assess the extent of vaginal wall involvement.

Functional Features of Digital Video Colposcope:
🔷 Enables a more intuitive and accurate diagnosis of gynecological conditions; applicable for the general screening and diagnosis of diseases affecting the cervix, vagina, and vulva. The procedure is non-invasive and free of side effects, capable of magnifying images of lesions up to 30 times their actual size.
🔷 The production of highly defined images allows physicians to observe even the most minute lesions directly on a computer monitor, thereby enhancing the diagnostic accuracy for conditions such as cervical erosion, precancerous lesions, and malignant tumors.
🔷 Features such as real-time display, image freezing, and image capture facilitate a more intuitive understanding for patients regarding the specific nature and status of their cervical lesions.
